Course Description

The  Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools has been specially designed to educate learners who want to become teaching assistants, learning support assistants or SEN assistants. The distance learning qualification consists of  online units, which will help students develop an understanding in subjects ranging from supporting child development to health and safety.

Students will also learn how to main supportive relationships with young children; how to create effective and educational displays and discover how schools function as organisations.

 

Placement Information

Whilst studying towards this Level 2 qualification, it is essential that you are working or volunteering in a school environment. This way, you will immediately be able to put your new skills to use. By the end of this experience and the online qualification, our students will feel confident in themselves and will be able to provide much needed, effective support in a learning environment. We Can also provide the placement if needed.

 

What Can I Do After Taking This Course?

  • After taking this distance learning course you will be eligible to apply for a full time TA role. Different schools have different person requirements, however the experience you have achieved as part of this course is likely to set you apart from the rest. As a qualified teaching assistant you could earn a salary between £17,000 and £23,000 per year.
  • If you enjoyed studying this course, you may choose to progress to a higher level qualification.
  • If you were already working at a school, this certificate may deem you eligible for a promotion, more responsibility or a pay rise.

 

Assessment

To assess the learner’s ability and knowledge to effectively understand the topics contained within the course, you are asked to complete assignment based tasks which show your underpinning knowledge of the subject alongside a work placement. This can be paid or voluntary work.

Once all the  assignments have been sent, Marked and returned back to you via email with feedback, you will have completed the qualification. A hard copy of the certificate will be sent out within three weeks of completion

Certificate

On successful completion of this   Course. The certificate will be claimed for and a hard copy sent within 3 weeks of completion.

Course Format

This course is delivered online through eLearning. Learners of the course will receive an email with course work attached, Online support will be available to learners via email or learners are able to call the tutor when required.

Course Duration

This course has 36 weeks to complete the course in full. This is only a guide to the weeks required and it depends on how quickly an individual can absorb the information. The learning is online so it can be spread out over multiple sessions.

Learners will have access to this course  from the date of joining. There is a 26 week time limit to complete the course during this period.

As part of the Introduction to the course, you will receive access to our dedicated tutor support service.
