Course Description

Qualification Objective:

This qualification is designed to enable learners to:

• Prepare assessments of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.

• Maintain records of the assessment of vocational skills.

• Gain an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment.

It will equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to support the vocational workplace as an assessor in workplace settings or for particular sector organisations. Learners holding this qualification will be competent to assess vocational achievement in the workplace.

Progression Routes:

This qualification is suitable for those already working as a workplace assessor wishing to formalise their position or complete a higher level of study. Learners who successfully complete this qualification may progress to the Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.

Entry requirements:

Learners must hold a qualification related to the area of assessment. Learners must have knowledge, skills and understanding of the area they intend to assess, and the learners must be engaged in the assessment of learner work. The minimum age for access to this qualification is 19 years of age.

Certificate

On successful completion of this Course. The certificate will be claimed for and a hard copy sent within 3 weeks of completion.

Course Format

This course is delivered online through eLearning. Learners of the course will receive a email with course work attached, Online support will be available to learners via email or learners are able to call the tutor when required.

Course Duration

The online course is for 26 weeks. This is only a guide to the learning hours required and it depends on how quickly an individual can absorb the information. The learning is online so it can be spread out over multiple sessions.
